Javier Aguirre, a 17-year-old junior from Osorno, Chile, is making his mark at Anthem Prep. Javier was born in Santiago, but his true stomping grounds were in Osorno, where he spent most of his childhood.
From a young age, basketball was central to Javier's life. He began playing at just six years old playing with is older brother J.J. who he has has been close too all of his life. Javier was coached by Yudi Abreu, an important coach in Javier’s athletic development. Driven by a dream to play basketball in the U.S.—Javier moved to Utah as a freshman. He spent two years at Juan Diego High School before transferring to Anthem Prep, seeking new opportunities to develop.
Javier's aspirations are clear: to secure a Division 1 basketball scholarship at a college where he will be challenged academically. Javi is a smart kid who loves math, as his parents were both math teachers.
At Anthem Prep, he appreciates the close-knit community, enjoying the camaraderie and cultural diversity within his basketball team, which has become a cornerstone of his experience.
